Activities

The Corrosion Engineer would work in the Production - Surface Technical department , Integrity Section and would be involved in day to day operations support for corrosion management. The engineer would be primarily focused on static equipment such as piping, pressure vessels, tanks and pipelines. Duties include but not limited to

1. Corrosion surveillance at assigned assets -including stewardship of fluid analysis, coupons/probes
2. Interface with operation/maintenance for integrity related issues. Develop recommendations as needed
3. Planning, execution and Stewardship of corrosion prevention programs including CP, chemical treatment, coatings, internal environmental control program such as oxygen exclusion
4. Stewardship of inspection programs in assets assigned. Review inspection data and provide follow up recommendations for monitoring, corrosion control, inspections and/or repairs
5. Fitness for service assessments
6. Repair recommendations and participation in Root cause failure analyses
7. Materials selection recommendations
8. Conduct risk analysis as needed
9. Develop periodic reports to management on materials and corrosion control issues, opportunities, Key performance indicators, and risks

Serve as single point of contact to operations and maintenance for certain asset or functional aspect of corrosion management.

Qualifications & Experience

1. Bachelors in Engineering in Metallurgy, mechanical or Chemistry - Masters with specialization in Corrosion preferred
2. Good academic background
3. Min 5 -7 years in oil and gas upstream Experience.
4. Understanding of corrosion mechanism and experience in corrosion management.
