About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in multi-billion-dollar projects, driving the digital transformation of offshore facilities. As an OT Engineer, you will focus on bridging the gap between Operational Technology (OT) and Enterprise Information Technology (IT) by integrating ICSS, vendor control systems, marine packages, and telecommunication networks with enterprise solutions.
Your work will enable advanced analytics, AI, automation, and other digital applications, driving efficiency and innovation in offshore operations. You will also support data governance and digital infrastructure to ensure seamless interaction between digital initiatives and business units.
Key Responsibilities
OT-IT Integration & Digitalization
- Develop, implement, and troubleshoot interfaces between OT networks and business systems.
- Design and deliver technical solutions for integrating FPSO OT systems into enterprise architectures.
- Identify and resolve challenges in OT-IT integration, ensuring efficient data flow and system performance.
Technology Strategy & Network Optimization
- Analyze OT and IT networks for opportunities to improve integration, architecture, and security.
- Support hardware lifecycle planning and standardization across multiple projects.
- Participate in project design reviews to ensure alignment with business and operational objectives.
- Provide architectural advice and oversight for operational application implementations.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with engineering, operations, IT, and digital transformation teams.
- Communicate effectively with business subject matter experts, engineers, developers, and management.
- Collaborate with technology teams and third-party vendors to build and implement digital solutions.
Governance & Security
- Advocate and improve technology change management processes.
- Assist in developing data handling and governance frameworks for OT systems.
- Ensure alignment with industry cybersecurity standards (IEC, ISO, NIST, etc.) where applicable.
Ideal Candidate Profile
✅ Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, with strong knowledge of logic systems and programming languages.
- 5+ years of hands-on control system design experience in the oil & gas industry.
- Strong understanding of FPSO operations, industrial communication protocols, and OT network design.
- Experience working with EPCI engineering tools and lifecycle information.
✅ Technical Expertise (Preferred):
- Knowledge of FPSO ICSS and vendor control systems.
- Familiarity with data structures, data manipulation, and industrial data conditioning.
- Experience with virtualization, server infrastructure, and SAN solutions.
- Exposure to cybersecurity best practices and standards (IEC, ISO, NIST certifications are a plus).
- Strong grasp of systems engineering methodologies and their application in OT environments.
