Wood is recruiting for an offshore Integrity Engineer on an International Contractor basis, to join our team on an FPSO located in the East Mediterranean Sea.

If you would like to play a key role in helping to secure the energy security of the region in a varied and exciting role offshore, then this could be the one for you.

Our client are operating 2 fields, located Offshore East Mediterranean Sea, the operation of the fields is undertaken using a newly-build, spread-moored gas FPSO unit to process gas and associated liquids from subsea wells. Dry pipeline spec gas is produced and piped through a gas export line to an onshore facility in East Mediterranean while the recoverable liquids (light Oil and Condensate) is tandem offloaded into tankers from the FPSO.

Wood are providing the Core Operations, Maintenance and Marine Teams onboard the vessel

Due to working visa requirements and the operating standards in the region we have a strong preference for candidates with experience of working in the North Sea along with previous international offshore oil & gas experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Key Responsibilities:

Ensure effective planning and preparation of inspection, fabric maintenance and repair work pack content;
  • Maintain knowledge of the physical condition of static plant and structures on the asset
  • Actively participate in Operational Risk Assessments
  • Provide input to review and validate the integrity management system including RBIs, asset strategies and corrosion control schemes
  • Provide Integrity input to the planning process
  • Complete site surveys to identify support requirements and provide suggestions for alternate inspection locations which are accessible without requiring support services (e.g. scaffolding / rope access)
  • Ensure all inspection activities are planned with the required multi-discipline input to allow all necessary preparatory works (access, isolations, cleaning etc.) to be implemented in a timely manner
  • Proactively identify and promote innovative inspection techniques, with the potential to reduce costs, improve integrity understanding/effectiveness of inspection, and improve the integrity of the asset
  • Act as focal point for raising permits for inspection activities and attending permit review meetings offshore

Ensure the quality of inspection, fabric maintenance remediation or repair and associated reporting;
  • Coordinate and manage work allocation for inspection teams to ensure they are fully productive.
  • Manage integrity activities on site ensuring that they are conducted and reported in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Coordinate Integrated Safe Systems of Work (ISSOW) requirements for integrity activities.
  • Provide input for options, scoping and prioritisation of repairs including fabric maintenance.
  • Provide direction and guidance on preparation of inspection reports for all integrity scopes.
  • Close out of inspection work orders within CMMS and IMS, punch listing of activities not completed, raising of corrective work orders.
  • Supervising and ensuring correct use and timely calibration of inspection equipment.
  • Ensure the correct prioritisation of Repair Orders and raise in the Work Management System to rectify anomalies ensuring the correct work criticality is assigned.
  • Undertake QA/QC of work packs pre-enactment and issued comments for necessary revisions.
  • Review 3rd party inspection reports, to ensure scope requirements have been met, and where applicable anomaly reporting is clear and unambiguous and repair options are fully defined.
  • Manage and coordinate vessel inspections, NDT requirements through validation of the work scope prior to initial entry into vessel.

Ensuring the relevant safety control and documentation is in place prior to vessel entry;
  • Review and sign off online surface preparation certificates to support fabric maintenance activities
  • Ensure onshore based engineering teams are informed of asset condition.
  • Provide a daily update to onshore teams on the progress of planned inspection and maintenance activities.
  • Discuss all anomalies verbally with the IE prior to submitting the Inspection / Anomaly reports, especially where there is ambiguity regarding the anomaly criteria.
  • Actively participate in weekly meetings with the managers of the integrity team.
  • Ensure completed work packs are signed off as complete and passed to onshore team in a timely manner.
  • Verify the close out of anomalies and complete anomaly close out reports.


QUALIFICATIONS

What makes you remarkable?

Essential requirements for role:
  • Relevant Engineering Degree or ONC / HNC in Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • UKAS Accreditation RG2 Category 2 working towards Category 1 or equivalent.
  • Member of applicable NDT / Corrosion organisation
  • Relevant Engineering Degree
  • Incorporated or Chartered Engineer
  • Previous Offshore Experience
  • BOSIET & MIST Training

Desirable:
  • Certified API 570 Piping Inspector and API 510 Vessel Inspector Code certified
  • In depth understanding and knowledge of current and developing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods, their application and detection capabilities and qualification for UT and dye penetrant testing
  • Knowledge and understanding of repair methods and their suitability to meet design requirements
  • Demonstrable knowledge of In-service degradation mechanisms
  • Knowledge and experience in welding technology
  • Understanding and awareness of national and international codes and standards for the design, fabrication and operation of Oil & Gas production plant and offshore structures
  • IT literate with proficiency Microsoft Applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English
  • Strong safety leadership skills
  • Ability to performance-manage direct reports and develop talent within the offshore teams
