Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Hull Engineering Coordinator to join the Engineering Technical Assurance Department, based in Singapore or Malaysia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating engineering and design activities for Topsides and/or Marine facilities of an FPSO project and supporting the fabrication, installation, commissioning, and startup of facilities and equipment/utility interfaces.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordination of Engineering & Design Systems:

  • Set up and manage Engineering and Design systems, including schedules, Master Document Register (MDR), and Procurement Schedule.
  • Issue all deliverables in line with project schedules, coordinating across engineering disciplines.

• Schedule Development & Change Management:

  • Develop and maintain Level 3 and Level 4 schedules for Topsides and/or Marine engineering.
  • Manage engineering change control after design freeze, ensuring communication, tracking, and approval by stakeholders.

• Query & Issue Management:

  • Respond to and close out comments from Class Society, Client Technical Queries, Site Queries, and Operations Queries for Topsides and/or Marine.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and third-party specialists for Topsides and/or Marine-related work.

• Project Support:

  • Assist the Engineering Manager in forecasting, mobilizing, and demobilizing engineering resources.
  • Support the review and risk assessment processes, helping to resolve engineering issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, and the change management/deviation approval process.

• Problem Solving & Safety Integration:

  • Support the development of solutions to non-recurring issues by analyzing data, interpreting precedents, and anticipating potential challenges.
  • Ensure Safety and Quality requirements are integrated into design processes to ensure safe operability and maintainability.

• Stakeholder Management & Decision Making:

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring efficient management of the project’s engineering, design, and interfaces.
  • Make timely engineering decisions based on sound engineering practices and project objectives, particularly in scenarios with multiple potential solutions.

• Engineering Reviews & Audits:

  • Support the Engineering Manager in conducting Project Design Reviews, Technical Audits, and other key project evaluations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline (required).
  • A Master's degree in any engineering discipline would be advantageous.

• Experience:

  • At least 12 years of relevant experience (or 10 years with a Master's degree).
  • Previous experience as an Engineering Coordinator on at least one FPSO project during the EPCI phase.
  • Specialist knowledge in at least one project line or a broad understanding of multiple technologies, projects, and applications.
  • Strong knowledge of design codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering teams for the hull and marine facilities of an FPSO project.

• Skills:

  • Familiarity with relevant engineering software and database systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially for negotiations with shipyard teams and clients.
  • Proven ability to develop manning plans, approve variation orders from shipyards and suppliers.
  • A minimum of 20 years of full-cycle FPSO project experience (FEED to Delivery).
  • In-depth FPSO experience, with sound knowledge of interfaces between topsides and marine engineering.
