New Opportunity!  Electrical Engineering Study Manager 

NES Fircroft is actively seeking an Experienced Electrical Engineer for a Study Manager position with our client, a major Minerals Processing Organization, for their Facilities in the Spruce Pine, North Carolina area!  This position will be a 6-month contract which will either be extended or converted to a permanent direct hire high role with our client. 

For this position, our client is seeking a highly experienced Electrical Project Manager who has experience developing and managing capital projects from the ground up.  Ideal candidates will come from a Mining or Minerals Processing background, but this is not a hard requirement.  Background in Automation, Instrumentation and Control Systems are highly desired by our client.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Electrical Engineering Study Manager to oversee the development and execution of engineering projects in the fields of high voltage, power distribution, UPS systems, and automation within a Minerals Processing Industrial setting. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in engineering project studies, cost optimization, and efficiency improvements. This role is for someone who can take an idea and develop it into a full-fledged project rather than simply managing an established plan.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead engineering project studies, providing comprehensive root cause analysis to address challenges and optimize design solutions.
  • Develop cost-effective options and ensure project efficiencies in the early phases of project planning and design.
  • Oversee the complete lifecycle of projects, from conceptualization through development and execution.
  • Provide technical expertise in high voltage systems, power distribution, UPS systems, and automation projects.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of electrical systems, automation, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Provide input into the design process, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Prepare and present progress reports, technical analysis, and project evaluations.
  • Manage risk assessments and ensure safety protocols are followed during all stages of project development.
  • Support the transition from concept to detailed engineering, ensuring the successful execution of the project.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (required).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on project development and execution.
  • Strong background in high voltage systems, power distribution, UPS systems, and automation projects.
  • Experience with Automation, Instrumentation, and Control Systems is highly preferred.
  • Experience in the Mining and Minerals Process Industry strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to lead and manage engineering studies from conceptual design through execution.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering project management principles, cost optimization, and efficiency improvements.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to present technical information and project status to stakeholders.
