No Objection Certificate (NOC) Engineer

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Contract Length: 10 Months

Purpose of the Role:

To assist in obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOC) and building permits for industrial developments in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role involves liaising with authorities and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and timely approvals.

Job Responsibilities:

1. NOC Application Process:

   • Prepare and submit applications for NOCs required for the construction or renovation of buildings.
   • Review and verify documents, plans, and drawings for compliance with local regulations and standards.
   • Coordinate with authorities for the approval of NOCs.

2. Coordination with Authorities:

   • Communicate with authorities and regulatory agencies to understand the requirements for obtaining NOCs.
   • Follow up to track the status of applications and resolve any issues that may arise.
   • Ensure timely submission of documents to avoid delays in project timelines.

3. Documentation and Record Keeping:

   • Maintain a well-organized record of all NOCs, approvals, and related correspondence.
   • Ensure that all NOCs are valid and properly documented for future reference.
   • Review and maintain records of any pending or expired NOCs for follow-up.

4. Compliance Check:

   • Monitor and verify that construction plans and projects comply with zoning laws, safety standards, environmental regulations, and other legal requirements.
   • Ensure that all required NOCs for utilities, roads, drainage, environmental concerns, and other related services are obtained.
   • Conduct site inspections and liaise with contractors to ensure compliance with NOC conditions.

5. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

   • Identify potential risks associated with NOC approvals or lack thereof and work to resolve these risks promptly.
   • Assist in mitigating any delays that may occur due to NOC-related issues by working with the project team and authorities.

6. Liaison with Project Teams:

   • Collaborate with project managers, architects, contractors, and consultants to ensure that NOCs are obtained for all aspects of the construction project.
   • Assist in adjusting project timelines and planning when NOC issues or delays arise.

7. Preparation of Reports:

   • Prepare and submit regular status reports on the NOC process to project managers.
   • Report any complications or delays encountered during the NOC approval process.

Qualifications:

• Degree in engineering (civil, structural, mechanical), architecture, or environmental science.

Job-Specific Knowledge / Experience (Essential):

• Proven experience in obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOC) and building permits for developments in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Job-Specific Knowledge / Experience (Desirable):

• Experience/knowledge of marine works will be an advantage.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic is desirable but not a requirement.
