Your role and responsibilities

ABB's Mine Hoist Systems team delivers solutions and services ensuring our customers get the most out of their investment. Our hoisting solutions help improve safety and productivity of the mines while reducing maintenance and energy costs. Deep domain knowledge enables us to truly understand and address our customers' challenges and opportunities. Our Hoisting Service Team supports customers with their ABB hoisting systems and solutions throughout North America. Our customers operate 24x7 and rely on ABB to support from installation and initial start-up, through to life-cycle services to maximize the availability of the solutions provided by ABB and optimize their operations. Located in Montreal, QC and reporting to the Hoisting Service Manager, you will act as North American Cyber-Security, HMI, Remote support and Networking contact for the ABB Hoisting Service Team. As part of our North American hoisting service team you will be involved in complete hoisting solution including electrical, mechanical, powertrain, hydraulics, brakes, control system as well as HMI, IT networks, remote services, cloud applications and more. • Provide Hoisting HMI, Network and Cyber-Security leadership for ABB Hoisting service team across North America • Collaborate with product teams to implement cybersecurity elements in our products and service offerings • Work with the cybersecurity officer to get our products and services approved by the cybersecurity authority • Update, Install and configure Human Machine interfaces for ABB hoisting application • Configure, install and commission advanced hoist monitoring solutions using cloud based or on-premises data analysis solutions. • Be involved in the delivery of advanced hoist monitoring services. • Analyze customer requirements to ensure Hoisting systems meet objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen • Develop, select, and apply standardized solutions, procedures, and tools, reporting inefficiencies, and identifying improvement opportunities, of ABB's standard deliveries and products. • Proficiency in managing and using tools related to cybersecurity (e.g., attack surface software). • Evaluate control systems regarding their security, create security concepts regarding customer requirements and industry standards • Ensure delivery of Remote Services Contracts to customers in collaboration with Service Project Manager and local service technicians • Ensure continuous functionality and availability of remote connection for all customers • Ensure compatibility of global Remote services offering to local customers and solutions. • Setup, Install and commission Remote connections • Collaborate with local sales team to ensure offered solutions are in line with developed solutions and to provide technical presentations and demos. • Require hands-on support at customer sites.

Qualifications for the role

  • Education & Experience: Collegial technical/engineering degree; 5+ years in cybersecurity management.
  • Skills: Strong customer focus, interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Languages: Proficient in English and French; Spanish is an asset. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
  • Travel: Valid passport and driver's license; ability to work in Canada, US, and Mexico.
  • Technical Expertise: Industrial automation (PLC, DCS, SCADA), Industrial networking and cybersecurity for control systems, OT network solutions design and implementation, Cybersecurity principles and OT-specific standards (ISA/IEC 62443), Firewalls, IDS/IPS, network segmentation, industrial switches/routers, Level-2 network technologies (VLAN, VTP, STP, etc.), Routing protocols and network monitoring tools, OT protocols (Modbus, Profinet, OPC, IEC61850), IP addressing and subnetting, Cybersecurity solutions (McAfee, Cisco, FortiGate, etc.).
  • Certifications: GICSP, CISSP, CCNA, CCNP.
  • Control Systems Cybersecurity: Risk assessments, compliance, SIEM, IDS, IPS, network design remediation.
  • Network Systems: Layer 3 switches, firewalls, ESXi/HyperV networking.
