Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the conceptualization and design of all tooling concepts to meet customer requirements for production tooling, machine tools available and tooling criteria.
- Work with the customer during the concept phase of the tooling development.
- Design and detail production tooling, special machine tool equipment and other special assignments as requested.
- Support the engineer working with the JTI Tool Room, Production Department,
- Tooling Vendors and Layout to resolve design questions/issues as they occur.
- Be aware of new equipment and manufacturing methods, as well as support the investigative phase of new equipment evaluations.
- Ensure all assigned project tool design and tool fabrication efforts are met.
- Develop good tooling concepts respectful of budgetary constraints and timing.
- Maintain and support tool tracking system (including build changes and updates), as well as the design library and support software.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to support the customer, maintaining the timeline, proper communication and EHS support.
- Associate's degree in Engineering Discipline or equivalent experience
- Ability to understand customer part prints, machine set up, tooling concepts and
manufacturing processes
