Senior Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute commissioning activities in all types of project sizes and complexities in close collaboration with the Senior Commissioning Engineer. Each day, you will execute these activities efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting continuous improvement in project processes, products, and system design. The work model for the role is: #LI-Onsite. This role contributes to the Engineering, Commissioning & Service department in the Process Automation for Process Industries division in India. Main stakeholders are project teams, clients, and internal engineering teams. You will be mainly accountable for: • Engineering and commissioning automation systems, including software development, simulation testing, FAT, start-up, and handover of assigned projects. • Performing hardware checks, wiring verification, network troubleshooting (Profibus, Ethernet, Modbus, FO networks), and ensuring compliance with safety norms. • Conducting individual signal testing, system trials, PID parameter tuning, and ensuring accurate functional performance of automation systems. • Modifying and troubleshooting control logic, HMI graphics, alarms, and interlock sequences as per customer and operational requirements. • Documenting commissioning progress, updating reusable solutions, and maintaining an organized database for future reference. • Collaborating with customers and internal teams, ensuring smooth project execution, capturing customer feedback, and providing technical support post-commissioning.

Qualifications for the role

  • B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering from a reputed university.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in automation solutions, preferably in Primary Metals, Cement, and Material Handling industries.
  • Strong knowledge of DCS/PLC hardware & software components, application programming, and HMI development/modifications.
  • Experience with ABB automation systems like 800xA, 800M, and compact products is an advantage.
  • Hands-on expertise in communication protocols used in automation and industrial networking.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and oral) and willingness to travel extensively.
