The person selected for this position will be working with a team of Engineers at the Tempe Arizona site. This position requires a technical background or education, and understanding of critical problem solving skills. A knowledge of aerospace products including pneumatic valves, and air turbine starter systems is preferred but not required. Part of this role will be to follow the design, part manufacturing, and testing of mechanical aircraft components that are manufactured in the plant- onsite and supporting production with line rejects and improvement opportunities. Additionally, an understanding of Project Management (i.e. scope, technical design analysis, root cause corrective action) is valued. Having proven experience in root cause / correction action is expected. The team is looking for leadership, and great communication skills with both internal organizations and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drive to meet the technical performance measures and project-specific requirements of the role (test and assembly yield, customer returns resolution, engineering design understanding, and Lean Manufacturing improvement projects
• Planning all aspects of assigned engineering work scope (design / drawing review and assessment of parts, manufacturing routings, corrective actions for failures)
• Follow US and Foreign Government Compliance on policies, procedures, and guidelines for new development programs
• Supporting OEM customer relationship along with other internal customer communication, collaboration and status reporting

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
MUST HAVES:
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering or engineering discipline
• Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience with coursework or internships and previous positions applicable
• Due to supporting Government sponsored program, candidate must be a US Person

• Demonstrated track record for managing requirements and meeting commitments and schedules

• Ability to creatively resolve issues by evaluation of technical data and risk assessments
• Able to effectively manage priorities and multiple projects in a fast paced environment with competing demands
• Technical background of aircraft system integration is an asset
• Operational knowledge and/or experience with pneumatic valves, actuation systems, and air turbine start systems applications is desirable
• Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma tools to aid in problem resolution and process improvement
