The R&D Engr Scientist I will join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our research and development efforts, with a specific focus on organic characterization analyses by Gas Chromatography (GC), NMR, and other organic analysis testing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct routine and specialized chemical analyses using gas chromatography, electrochemistry and benchtop NMR.
  • Develop and optimize analytical methods for the identification and quantification of organic compounds in various sample streams.
  • Set up, validate, maintain and troubleshoot analytical instruments, including GC, GC-MS, GC-VuV, and GC-SIMDIS and sample prep equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research projects.
  • Document experimental procedures, results, and observations accurately.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in organic analysis.

The salary for this position in Illinois is $65,500-$81,900. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations. The application period for the job is estimated to be 40 days from the job posting date; however, this may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidates.

MUST HAVE
  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related field

WE VALUE
  • Experience with gas chromatography analyses and instrumentation.
  • Experience with laboratory analyses and instrumentation including NMR, XRF, and organic physical properties.
  • Proficiency in method development and validation.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of ASTM or UOP methods, and UOP materials and processes and associated analytical methods.
