Your role and responsibilities

In the role of Sustainability Engineer, you will improve sustainability planning and performance by supporting the implementation of business specific strategies and priorities throughout the region through the application of in-depth knowledge and offering solutions and advice. This position will be responsible for leading and managing product line sustainability, driving its success through execution of EPDs circularity and strategic business decisions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address market and customer needs and deliver sustainable product and transparency. Advise Sustainability Manager on external trends, technologies and program development plans. You'll engage in diverse projects across ELIP, leveraging your skills to improve our product offerings and contribute to the division's success. As a key player, you'll help shape the future of our products sustainability and ensure they remain at the forefront of the market. The work model for the role is: Remote You will be mainly accountable for: • Lead ELIP US/LATAM product sustainability with Life cycle assessments and Environmental Product Declaration Circularity Assessment and Product development; Responsible for engaging with manufacturing sites and product teams in the LCA Inventory phase and assist with data collection, and data analysis. • Responsible to assist product line team in LCA modeling and 3rd party verification phase, research and lead consultants and verifier for business continuity; Lead continuous improvement for product sustainability program w/data warehousing, automation and EPD digitalization. • Responsible for LCA/EPD cross-function training, becoming a sustainability ambassador; Promotes understanding and awareness of sustainability issues with team members and other key stakeholders. • Responsible for data quality, management, monitoring of ESG data and key performance indicators (including energy, water, waste and greenhouse gas [GHG] emissions); Responsible to building program progress reporting for site, local business unit, country, and regional level. Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor degree in Environmental, Sustainability, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering PLUS minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment OR Masters degree
  • Understanding of product sustainability and carbon calculation methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ABB's product catalog and a solid understanding of product functionality and applications, a plus
  • MS Office skills required; Power BI and SharePoint experience a plus
  • Willingness to travel up to 40 percent.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
