As a Technician for Aerospace Research, you will work with and support scientists and engineers in executing multiple tasks in the area of chemistry including reaction chemistry, dilutions, formulation work and characterization of solid, liquid and gaseous materials. You need to be comfortable with handling chemicals and basic lab operations. You will be expected to support the Chemistry team across multiple projects in and around the chemistry lab.

The base pay range for this position is 1,400 - 2,000 USD Weekly. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This posting is expected to close on April 16, 2025

Job Description
In this job you will:
- Work with Chemists and Material Scientists to process, isolate, and test chemicals and materials.
- Develop processes to safely handle chemicals.
- Work with researchers to scale up chemical processes.
- Rigorously document test setups, major procedures, findings/results.
- Prepare reports of test data as needed.
- Maintain, repair and replace test equipment as needed.
- Follow all prescribed safety and quality regulations including compliance.
- Promote safety and good housekeeping practices.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field OR Associate degree in chemistry or related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience, OR a High School Diploma with a minimum of 10 years of job relevant experience.
- Experience in setting up laboratory glassware and its operation.
- Experience in handling materials and chemicals in the course of day-to-day activities.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to perform multiple, concurrent tasks.

- Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.
