Job Title:Solar Simulation Engineer (PVsyst Specialist)

Job Location:

Düsseldorf, Germany orThe Hague, Netherlands

Main Responsibilities:

• Assist European representative offices in addressing customer PVsyst simulation needs to ensure accurate modeling and correct solution parameters.
• Support customers in performing PVsyst simulations, identifying and resolving potential issues related to system configuration, parameter settings, and performance analysis.
• Showcase our solution advantages through PVsyst simulations, providing technical insights and ensuring optimal results for clients.
• Enhance the PVsyst capabilities of European representative offices by offering training, best practices, and technical support.
• Collect and analyze common challenges faced by representative offices in PVsyst simulations, providing solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Develop PVsyst-related materials and documentation, including guidelines and training resources, to support business expansion.

Requirements:

Basic Requirement:

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in PV system design, simulation, or technical support.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Renewable Energy or a related field.
• Fluent in English

Professional Knowledge:

• Proficiency in PVsyst and strong understanding of PV system simulation principles.
• Knowledge of PV system design, energy yield assessment, and inverter performance.
• Technical problem-solving abilities, particularly in PV system modeling and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication skills, capable of guiding and training technical teams across multiple European locations.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams, including local representative offices and Huawei HQ.
• Experience in working with PV projects, grid-connected systems, and performance analysis.
• Fluency in English

Key Skill:

• Foundations of AC systems
• Understanding of PV systems Performance Ratio (PR).
• Full understanding of a PV utility scale system SLD and capability to translate it into a system configuration in "System" section of PVsyst software.
• Proven experience in full modelling and simulation of a utility scale PV system with PVsyst software:

1. Electrical partitioning of PV tables according to PV module types (i.e. half-cut cells) for accurate shading analysis.
2. Importing a complex shading scene generated by PVcase software for accurate PV site shading analysis.
3. "Power Sharing" feature usage when in presence of different configurations within MPPTs of same inverter, and between different inverters.
4. "Detailed Losses" modelling: ohmic losses on DC cabling, LV AC cabling, MV AC cabling, transformer losses at sub-array level according to cables specs and lengths, trafo specs (impedance, no-load losses, load losses), grid limitation at Point Of Connection (POC), mismatch, LID,..
5. Understanding of the difference between P50 and P90 simulations.
