We are looking for a Generator Technician to assist with maintaining standby generators and associated control systems. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and willing to maintain and repair standby generators. Ability to troubleshoot, repair and perform routine engine maintenance. Ability to organize and maintain inventory, and manage time effectively.
• Perform routine maintenance and reactive support to multiple diesel generator sets and their associated control systems
• Perform daily routine inspections of the generator plant
• Undertake upgrades, limited expansion and installation of associated SCADA and Woodward controls alongside third party vendors
• Perform reactive electrical and control system fault finding and repairs
• Ensure associated software is up-to-date by conducting updates/downloads as required
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating generator sets' Mechanical and Electrical maintenance
• Assist with coordinating third party vendors performing heavy repairs.
• Assist with managing generator spares, including managing minimum stock levels, prioritizing order requirements, planning future maintenance activities and liaising with suppliers for requests for quotes
• Keep daily records of hours of operation, maintenance modifications performed
• Working beyond official hours as and when required and
willingness to be placed into rotational on-call status if needed
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements
High school diploma / GED equivalent preferred. two (2) years to five (5) years related experience Requires the technical skills, job knowledge and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions.
Journeyman level certification or equivalent required
Other Job Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent, vocational or trade school graduate or equivalent apprenticeship.
• Minimum eight (8) years of generator maintenance experience, three (3) of which in a lead or supervisory role.
• Capable of troubleshooting engines, fuel systems, controls, and generators using prints, diagrams, and specifications.
• Capable of maintaining and operating megawatt rated high amperage and high voltage generators.
• Knowledge of working with and monitoring contracted maintenance services.
• Provide guidance and oversight for any person under their supervision.
• Willingness to work on-call, rotational shifts, and nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
