Short description

We are seeking a Sr Project Engineer for a rapidly growing dredging client who will be responsible for a broad range of duties to ensure that projects are planned, executed, and delivered to the contractual standards for tolerance and quality.

Function description

This position will be under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and/or Operations Manager.

• Pre Project

a. Analysis of project plans/specifications

b. Quantity calculations and data analysis

• Project Preparation

a. Create engineering and survey files

b. Selection and preparation of engineering equipment

• Project execution
• Reporting

a. Internal (daily logs, production, etc.)

b. Client Reporting

• Production management

a. Data acquisition and analysis

• Equipment Management

a. Inventory, care, and maintenance of survey and engineering equipment

• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs.

Requirements

The employee must have:

• Knowledge of construction contracts and the ability to read/analyze plans, and specifications
• Hydrographic and conventional survey experience
• Hypack and AutoCAD experience
• Good analytical skills and decision-making ability
• Strong communicator, both verbal and written
• Ability to abide by and enforce company policies and procedures
• Ability to comply with safety rules and regulations.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently
• Ability to work away from home at remote project locations for extended durations.
• Must be reliable and motivated.
• Ability to obtain TWIC.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
• Competencies: stress management/composure, teamwork, results-driven.
