Join our dynamic team as an Automation Technician, where you will play a crucial role in supporting automation and instrumentation for operations in the oil and gas industry in South Texas.
Role Overview
- Maintain and install Automation-I&E equipment such as PLC components, wired and wireless transmitters, and communications equipment.
- Promote and engage in a strong safety culture while working as part of a team.
- Utilize SCADA systems to monitor operations effectively.
- Perform Lock-Out/Tag-Out processes on required equipment.
- Execute other operational duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair PLCs, ABB TotalFlow, Fisher ROC, and transmitters.
- Proficient in troubleshooting electrical circuits and components.
- Knowledge of communication equipment including Freewave, XetaWave, RedLion, ABB, Cambium, and fiber optic systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced personnel.
- Understanding of oil and gas production equipment and operations.
Education & Experience
- Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
- Certifications: Must be certified to work at heights and pass a Fit Test for H2S environments.
- Experience: Relevant experience in automation and instrumentation support is preferred.
