Function description
As a 2nd Engineer on board a jack-up vessel, you will support the Chief Engineer in managing the technical operations and maintenance of all machinery and equipment onboard. Your duties include overseeing the performance of engine room operations, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring the smooth functioning of essential systems such as engines, generators, pumps, and hydraulics. You will carry out regular inspections, preventive maintenance tasks, and respond to technical emergencies as needed. Compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations is an essential part of your role. Teamwork, a proactive mindset, and a hands-on approach are key to succeeding in this position.
Requirements
To qualify for this job, a perfect candidate should have:
✅ Certificate of Competency (COC) III/2
✅ Valid STCW Certificates (incl. Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats - STCW A-VI/2.2)
✅ Valid BOSIET (including HUET)
✅ GWO Working at Heights certificate
✅ Chester Step test
✅ Valid offshore medical certificate (OGUK or equivalent)
✅ Previous experience as a 2nd Engineer on similar offshore units (preferably Jack-Up vessels)
