Are you passionate about building a strong safety culture and making a measurable impact? At NOV, we're looking for a proactive HSE Advisor to join our team in Manchester. In this role, you'll help ensure our operations meet the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and employee wellbeing.

Your Role

As an HSE Advisor, you'll provide expert support across multiple projects and teams to uphold and enhance our HSE management systems. You'll be a key partner to site managers and frontline teams, helping to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement practical, impactful solutions. Your work will directly contribute to a safe and sustainable workplace where people thrive.

What You'll Do

Occupational Health & Safety

• Deliver clear, practical HSE guidance and training to promote a proactive safety culture.
• Support investigations of incidents and near misses, ensuring root causes are addressed with effective corrective actions.
• Lead ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 compliance audits and help maintain related certifications.
• Participate in global HSE meetings to share insights and lessons learned.
• Oversee use of PPE and support emergency preparedness and response initiatives.
• Coordinate occupational health activities and required medical surveillance.

Environmental Management

• Monitor and update environmental impact assessments in line with legislation and operational changes.
• Provide advice and support for environmental initiatives and compliance.
• Drive awareness and support teams in identifying and minimizing environmental impacts.

HSE Systems & Administration

• Maintain and improve HSE management systems and documentation.
• Conduct site inductions and support development of training materials.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry for incidents, observations, and ESG metrics.
• Lead internal audits, inspections, and HSE committee meetings.
• Stay current on legislation and industry best practices.

What You Bring

Qualifications:

• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
• Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards

Experience & Skills:

• Previous experience in an HSE advisory role, ideally within a manufacturing environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence at all levels
• Organized and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
