EngineeringJob Title: Civil QA/QC Lead – Major LNG Project (Mozambique)
Location: Afungi, Northern Mozambique
Contract Type: Rotational 4/4 (Site-based)
Our client is seeking an experienced Civil QA/QC Lead to join a large-scale, strategically important LNG development project in Mozambique.
This is an opportunity to be part of one of the most significant energy infrastructure projects in the region, encompassing onshore LNG trains, marine facilities, utilities, and early site infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and inspire high safety standards across all contractor and subcontractor activities.
Ensure full QA/QC compliance across civil construction activities in line with international standards and project specifications.
Review and approve contractors’ quality plans, ITPs, and inspection strategies.
Provide oversight and leadership to QA/QC and inspection personnel (team of up to 10).
Monitor performance, resolve non-conformities, and report deviations or risks to senior management.
Liaise with multidisciplinary teams (HSE, cost, planning, etc.) to ensure seamless execution and delivery.
Participate in routine reporting and inspections, and manage daily/weekly/monthly QA/QC documentation.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and national development through mentorship and coaching.
About the Project
This multibillion-dollar LNG development includes: Two LNG trains (13 mtpa total), Storage and marine loading facilities, Civil infrastructure including roads, camps, and security facilities.
The site will peak at around 15,000 personnel and presents a unique set of logistical and operational challenges due to its remote location.
Requirements
Engineering degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
Minimum 15 years of QA/QC experience within the Oil & Gas sector, with significant exposure to large EPC projects.
Strong working knowledge of QA/QC systems, civil construction methods, and inspection protocols.
Proven leadership and mentoring ability.
Fluent in English (written and spoken); Portuguese or French is an advantage.
Strong understanding of HSE principles and commitment to safety leadership.
