Essential skills and knowledge
- Supervise the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of control systems, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure the successful implementation of control system projects, including system upgrades and expansions.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of control system hardware and software to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts to diagnose and resolve control system issues, minimizing downtime and disruptions to operations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians on control system maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design and implement control system improvements and optimizations.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in control system technology, recommending enhancements to improve system performance and reliability.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of control system configurations, maintenance activities, and incident reports.
- Participate in training programs and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance skills and expertise in control system maintenance and operation.
Essential skills and knowledge
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in control system maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Proficiency in control system platforms and programming languages, including but not limited to, DCS (e.g., Honeywell, Emerson) and PLC (e.g., Siemens, AllenBradley).
- Certification in relevant control system technologies is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in control system maintenance and support, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead technician role.
- Hands-on experience with control system hardware and software, including configuration and programming.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to control system safety and reliability.
- Experience working in industrial or plant environments is an advantage.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness to work in challenging and dynamic environments.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency situations as needed.
