Plays a crucial role in leveraging data analytics to drive improvements in manufacturing processes. This individual focuses on analyzing manufacturing data, optimizing production operations, and ensuring the integration of analytics into decision-making processes. The position requires both technical engineering expertise and strong analytical skills to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency in manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Analysis:
- Analyze production data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Implement data collection systems to optimize overall manufacturing efficiency.
2. Process Improvement:
- Utilize advanced analytics and statistical methods to optimize manufacturing processes and increase yield.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process changes and monitor the impact of these changes over time.
3. Reporting and Visualization:
- Create dashboards and reports that visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and manufacturing metrics for management review.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and concise reports and visual tools.
4. Collaboration with IT:
- Work closely with IT teams to develop and maintain software tools and systems that support data collection and analysis.
- Ensure the integrity and availability of manufacturing data for analytical purposes.
5. Project Management:
- Lead or participate in engineering projects aimed at improving operational efficiencies and reducing costs.
- Develop project plans, set milestones, and track progress to ensure timely completion.
6. Training and Development:
- Provide training to manufacturing staff on the use of data analytics tools and techniques.
- Share best practices and continuous improvement methods with teams to foster a culture of data-driven decision-making.
7. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements pertaining to manufacturing processes and data management.
- Assist in audits and assessments related to manufacturing data practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electronics Engineer, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related field with a focus on data analytics.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI) and familiarity with statistical software (e.g., Minitab).
Preferred Skills:
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex datasets to inform engineering decisions.
- Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of Lean principles and experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma).
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and creatively to solve engineering and manufacturing challenges.
