Structural Engineering Lead (Civil)

Type: 3-Year Secondment Contract
Schedule: 6 Days per Week | 26 Days per Month | 10 Hours per Day
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineering Lead (Civil) to oversee the design and delivery of major onshore infrastructure works within the energy sector. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a high-profile industrial development, supporting full project lifecycle delivery from design through to construction. The successful candidate will bring technical rigour, leadership and collaborative problem-solving to drive performance across civil and structural disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise civil and structural engineering activities across all phases of FEED and EPC.

Ensure that design outputs meet project specifications, technical standards and regulatory requirements.

Provide consistent direction to engineering contractors and manage technical interfaces.

Review and validate engineering documentation including specifications, data sheets, and calculations.

Conduct engineering surveillance on deliverables to ensure quality and alignment with project objectives.

Coordinate with multiple internal and external teams to resolve design and execution issues.

Ensure adherence to timelines, cost control and risk management protocols related to civil works.

Guide and contribute to the design of tank foundations and other large industrial structures.

Apply sound engineering judgement in the review of brownfield modifications and tie-ins.
Requirements:

Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution.

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in civil/structural engineering, with at least 5 years in design execution.

Proven background in large-scale oil & gas or heavy industrial projects, ideally within onshore LNG environments.

Prior experience working in FEED is essential.

Familiarity with foundation design for large tanks and brownfield engineering is advantageous.

Strong knowledge of international codes, design practices, and engineering standards.

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage technical teams within multi-disciplinary project settings.

Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
