Senior Civil/Structural Engineer (Offshore)

Location: Offshore Projects, Qatar

Employment Type: Contract

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered or Professional Engineer status is highly desirable.

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of post-graduate experience in civil/structural engineering, with at least 6 years in the oil and gas sector.
• Strong familiarity with applicable international civil/structural engineering standards and offshore design codes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage engineering activities in a multi-project environment while ensuring quality, cost control, and adherence to schedules.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including the ability to deliver technical presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical design and engineering support across assigned offshore civil/structural projects.
• Deliver high-quality engineering work in line with internal quality procedures, project timelines, HSE requirements, and budget constraints.
• Conduct engineering studies and in-house surveys from concept through to detailed design and commissioning phases.
• Ensure the integration of applicable engineering standards, technical assurance procedures, and HSE guidelines into all deliverables.
• Review and assess technical deviations and proposed alternatives against project specifications and industry best practices.
• Support the ongoing development, revision, and application of internal engineering standards and specifications.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of project scopes.
• Develop and review project work scopes and engineering designs, ensuring clarity and alignment with project goals.
• Approve method statements and liaise with external contractors to resolve design-related queries.
• Assist in planning and scheduling of in-house design work and coordinate with FEED/EPIC contractors for seamless project execution.
• Participate in technical bid evaluations and compliance reviews for project procurement activities.
• Review and assess variations or change requests related to design scope and provide technical justification.
• Contribute to mentoring and development of junior engineers, including participation in structured training and competency-building initiatives.
