Senior Construction Supervisor - Offshore Projects

Location: Offshore. Qatar

Employment Type: Contract

Qualifications:

• Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Strong background in offshore oil & gas project commissioning and construction supervision.
• Excellent communication, construction management, and conflict resolution skills.
• Computer literate with strong report writing and documentation capabilities.

Experience:

• 10-12 years of experience in oil & gas construction and installation projects, with significant offshore experience.
• Solid understanding of steel structure installation, mechanical/piping systems, and commissioning for offshore platforms and Wellhead Jackets.
• Proficient in construction techniques and industry best practices for both greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Skilled in reviewing lifting plans and supervising lifting operations.
• Familiarity with international engineering standards, QA/QC, safety, and environmental protocols.
• Proven ability to coordinate with multicultural, multi-discipline contractor workforces.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and report on contractor performance, manpower utilization, equipment deployment, and construction progress.
• Chair daily and weekly coordination meetings with contractors, supervisors, QA/QC, and HSE teams to resolve site issues.
• Act as Construction Risk Management representative-identify risks, assess impacts, implement mitigation plans.
• Validate contractor progress reports and ensure schedule alignment with project timelines.
• Review and support detailed engineering deliverables including design drawings, method statements, and logistics plans.
• Supervise and approve construction activities, work inspections, and material handling in coordination with QA/QC.
• Ensure all construction work complies with contract specifications, approved standards, and requirements.
• Facilitate mechanical completion (MCC) walkdowns, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain daily site logs and escalate work anomalies or deviations with recommended corrective actions.
• Enforce compliance with work permit systems and site-specific HSE regulations.
• Manage mobilization and demobilization of contractors and vendors for offshore execution.
• Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Production, Maintenance) and external contractors to resolve construction interface issues.
• Make informed construction decisions in line with company procedures and escalate as needed to project leadership.
• Serve as the focal point for all construction activities during non-standard working hours.
• Drive timely, efficient construction execution and pre-commissioning activities across assigned scopes.
