The Role

The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for leading process engineering activities, optimizing operations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role involves working on refinery and petrochemical projects, troubleshooting process issues, and driving efficiency improvements within BAPCO's operations.

The key objectives for this role are:
  • Develop and optimize process designs for refinery and petrochemical operations.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and process modeling to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (API, ASME, ASTM) and environmental regulations.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for process-related issues and recommend solutions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including operations, maintenance, and project engineers.
  • Support project execution, including FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and detailed engineering phases.
  • Implement best practices for energy efficiency and sustainability in process operations.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Process Optimization: Develop and refine process designs to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Technical Support: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including operations, maintenance, and project engineers.
  • Safety & Compliance: Conduct risk assessments (HAZOP, HAZID) and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Project Management: Oversee process engineering aspects of new projects and modifications.
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution.

Expected:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 10-12 years of experience in process engineering within the oil & gas sector.
  • Strong expertise in refinery operations, petrochemical processes, and process optimization.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, or equivalent).
  • Experience with safety and risk assessments (HAZOP, HAZID).
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
