Bobcat of Houston will become the Portable Power (Air Compressors, Generators, and Light Towers) dealer in August. We are seeking a technician that has previous experience working on Portable Power units.

Bobcat of Houston is looking to add a Generator/Compressor Mechanic. This role will be responsible for providing quality repair services on Portable Power equipment in order to meet customer needs in a responsive, friendly, educated, and timely manner. This includes performing basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment. The technician will also be responsible for identifying problems with mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and electrical systems and executing effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality repair services in order to meet customer needs in a responsive, friendly, educated, and timely manner
• Performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on portable power units (Air Compressors, Generators, and Light Towers)
• Participates in Service Training programs for the development of skills and knowledge
• Document all repairs and testing for customer and warranty repairs
• Any other duties as outlined by the Service Supervisor and or management of the company

Qualifications

• Previous experience working on commercial and industrial generators/compressors
• Preferred knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems (such as generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units) Is this correct?
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have an inventory of hand tools to facilitate the assigned repairs.
• 3-5 years experience working on portable power equipment
• Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customer and service team.

Physical Requirements

• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate construction equipment.
• Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 50-100 pounds and/or frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 20-50 pounds and/or continuous lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling 10-20 pounds
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, grasp or pull and lift objects. Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl
• Consistently exposed to outside weather conditions, fumes, and loud noise.
