The System Operations Technician will be responsible for handling emergency leak calls. Perform natural gas pipeline locates. Perform all high-pressure gas duties independently with pressures up to 1480 PSI. Perform maintenance on City Gate and Regulator stations equipment including: Custody meters, Regulators and Odorizers. Complete and submit Texas Rail Road Commission (TxRRC) inspection paperwork for assigned area(s). Install/Diagnose/Repair SCADA RTU systems monitoring flow and pressures. Monitor and adjust Cathodic Protection devices and systems

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
Must maintain all System Operations Technician (Field Tech IV) "Operator Qualification Certifications."
Handle all City Gate/Regulator Station leak calls and troubleshoot where the leak is coming from and come to a resolution.
Installation, maintenance, and/or replacement of all high-pressure gas meters.
Works in conjunction with the Field Service team to coordinate daily activities and to ensure that gas service is uninterrupted.
Inspect and certify contractor work in accordance with industry and Railroad Commission (RRC) standards.
Perform patrols and/or Leak Surveys for Company pipelines.
Perform installation and programming of commercial Automated Meter Reader (AMR).
Responsible for the Odorization process.
Monitoring and maintenance of all high-pressure stations and systems.
May assist other Field Operations team members when needed.
Install, Diagnose and Repair all SCADA RTU's, Communication and Power equipment.
Rotating schedule of "On-Call Duty" and the ability to perform the duties of On-Call Duty as outlined in the On-Call Policy.
Must obtain all the necessary skills and procedural techniques outlined above along with the ability to effectively train other System Operation Technicians (Field Tech IV).

Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience in the Natural Gas Industry.
- Understanding of local codes and regulations.
- Overtime is required from time to time to meet the needs of the business.
- Ability to be on a rotating schedule of On-Call Duty.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in a field operations environment.
- Knowledge of: TotalFlow ABB, Fisher ROC, MasterLink and Fowsic500 systems
- Proficient in KingTool or YZ odorizer Installation and Maintenance
- Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel
- Knowledge of Transmission & Distribution Regulatory Inspection Forms
- Cathodic Protection and Rectifier knowledge a plus
Physical Demands:
- Job requires employees to stand on his/her feet for extended periods of time, climb ladders, walk considerable distances on worksite, lift objects up to 75 lbs, pulling, pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching.
- Work is performed outside with the exposure of weather extremes such as but not limited to, heat, rain, and cold.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to excessive due to high traffic areas and/or areas of construction.
