Job Description Summary

Position: Configurations Engineer (E3) - GE9X Engine Program

GE Aerospace is seeking a Configurations Engineer to support the GE9X engine program (that powers the Boeing 777X) , currently transitioning between FAR25 certification and Entry-Into-Service stages. The selected candidate will be responsible for Jet Engine Externals hardware design, including tubes, brackets, manifolds, harnesses, and heatshields. This role requires leading design changes and collaborating closely with global cross-functional teams such as Analysis, Product Definition (PDE), Manufacturing Programs, and others.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead/own engineering projects, ensuring alignment with program goals and technical requirements.
  • Execute design, analysis and evaluation tasks using established engineering principles and methodologies.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Configurations/Externals discipline, leveraging prior experience and technical expertise to implement policies and strategies effectively.
  • Excercise judgement to propose solutions outside of established parameters, with guidance as needed.
  • Solve straightforward tasks using prior experience, on-the-job training, and technical skills.
  • Utilize analytical thinking and collaborate with internal resources, including teams outside of the immediate group, to make informed decisions.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Mechatronic Engineering).
  • In depth knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts.
  • Proficient listening, written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Proficient presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results.
