Senior OT Engineer

Contract Duration: Fixed Term Direct - 24 months

About the Role

We are seeking a driven Operational Technology (OT) Engineer to support the delivery of digital transformation initiatives across high-value energy and infrastructure projects. This role plays a vital part in enabling integration between traditionally isolated OT systems (e.g., ICSS, vendor control systems, marine systems) and enterprise IT systems to facilitate automation, analytics, and AI-enhanced operational processes.

You will contribute to data architecture, network design, systems integration, and digital infrastructure development, supporting both internal and external technology partners. This position is instrumental in realising the facility's digitalisation roadmap by ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient OT-IT interoperability.

Key Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of interfaces between business systems and OT networks
• Troubleshoot integration issues between OT and IT environments
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to define and scope OT-related digital projects
• Contribute to lifecycle hardware planning, upgrade strategy, and system standardisation
• Liaise with stakeholders to address digital integration requirements and resolve issues
• Participate in project design reviews ensuring alignment with intended operational outcomes
• Identify improvements in network architecture, system integration, and data flows
• Design and document technical solutions to bridge OT platforms with enterprise systems
• Provide architectural support for implementation of selected operational applications
• Interface with the Digital & Analytics department to support digital platform development
• Assist in implementing data handling/governance processes across operational functions

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant Engineering field
• Over 5 years' hands-on experience with control systems in the oil & gas industry
• Sound understanding of industrial communication protocols and OT/IT networking principles
• Experience with FPSO operations, ICSS, and vendor-specific automation systems preferred
• Strong logical and programming knowledge to support data-driven system architecture
• Knowledge of virtualisation, server infrastructure, and SAN solutions beneficial
• Familiarity with systems engineering methodologies and lifecycle information management
• Understanding of cybersecurity standards (IEC, ISO, NIST) is an advantage
• Effective communication skills with cross-functional teams and technical stakeholders
