- Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations and standards.
- Prepare and submit required reports, permits, and documentation to regulatory agencies.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee and conduct regular HSE audits, inspections, and investigations.
- Liaise with Construction Manager on workplace safety, health and environmental issues.
- Maintain and improve the risk management system and conduct risk assessments.
- Organize and promote EHS activities and raise safety awareness among site personnel.
- Enforce safety standards, conduct safety training, and promote safety programs.
- Measure, monitor and report on WSH performance and safety statistics.
- Establish and maintain Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans and other safety programs.
- Lead the Safety team and subcontractors in implementing safety systems at sites.
- Conduct team/individual WSH inspections and produce reports ensuring safety compliance.
- Investigate incidents and recommend preventive measures.
- Facilitate and conduct internal auditing to ensure compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHSAS45001 standards.
- Ensure legal compliance to all statutory safety and Environmental regulations.
- Carry out other duties as may be assigned by Management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are highly desirable.
- Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer.
- Minimum 15+ years' experience, with at least 10 years as an EHS Officer or Advisor on complex industrial projects.
- Proven experience managing HSE programs in the USA, including familiarity with OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Strong communication skills and excellent customer orientation.
- Deep knowledge of construction EHS best practices, legal aspects, and hazard management.
- Proven ability to manage a safety program and create a safety culture.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
