Wood is recruiting for a Project Engineer with a background in Instrumentation & Control for a six-month contract to join our client's site in Darwin. You will be integrated into our client team and working under an Engineering Services Contract (ESC) to create delivery excellence across an assigned brownfields Oil & Gas project portfolio for an Operations team with a key client.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Working in a key ESC, you will be responsible for:
  • Coordinating the implementation and completion of moderate sized projects, a portfolio of small projects, and/or major components of large projects
  • Ensuring safe delivery, quality, schedule and cost targets are met, and managing associated risk mitigation
  • Delivering projects to agreed specifications, managing change and customer relationships and ensuring appropriate reporting and governance is adhered to and controlled

In this highly visible client facing role, your focus will be on both relationship building as well as delivery. Anticipating client needs beyond the immediate scope, you will drive technical excellence, while enabling the ongoing growth and development. You will work in close partnership with other disciplines and the client to enable robust technical decisions that ultimately add value to the client and asset portfolio.

You will be an Australian citizen or hold Permanent Residency (PR) and able to work lawfully in Australia.

Ideally you will be suitably qualified in Engineering from a recognised institution and have a 5+ years of proven experience in the Oil and Gas Brownfields Engineering / EPCM sector in Australia, including 3+ years of relevant experience in a Project Engineering role. Your development into Project Engineering shall ideally have come via an Instruments and Control background.

It is advantageous if you are a Project Management Professional (PMP), Associate in Project Management (APM) or hold an equivalent certification.

In addition, you will have:
  • Significant experience in project delivery management
  • Field experience
  • Excellent communication skills with proven experience in client facing roles
  • Project engineering experience with extensive knowledge Australian and International applicable codes and standards
  • Proven experience managing risk during the design process, consistent with technical and commercial requirements
  • Well developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs
  • A focus on delivering solutions, and adept at managing a dynamic environment with varying tasks and changing and competing priorities

Desirable:
