Job Description Summary

Staff Engineer will provide technical leadership while owning hardware on GE90/GP HPC module. In this role, you will be responsible to maintain part for the life cycle of the engine including aspects on solving field issue resolution, Root Cause Analysis, Repair, and cost reduction. you will manage field issues, lead service's contract profitability, and deliver solutions that meet business needs within functional area(s) of expertise

Site Overview

Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is GE Aerospace's multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Pushing the boundaries of innovation every day, engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.

Role Overview:
  • Independently own and execute GE90/GP HPC Rotor Programs requiring design, analysis, test, or integration to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements
  • Be the first point of contact from LCE on any query from sourcing/supplier/fleet/repair/customer
  • Lead and execute on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives.
  • Recommend design solutions to meet the technical and program requirements. Own technical presentations at technical reviews.
  • Lead or support product Key Performance Indicator (KPI) to identify leading indicators and opportunities for improvement.
  • Should execute & technically mentor the young engineers in team on LCE aspects to meet the program objectives.
  • Should network & establish strong connections with Commodity CTHs, Cross functions teams viz. Shop, SC, Repair, MAE, CTPs and Shop technical teams to achieve the desired outcomes for module
  • Should lead investigations for the field events / distress and prepare action / field plan in collaboration with module teams and led the Systems Tech Reviews and PCB reviews to get it approved
  • Demonstrate clear thinking, strong technical articulation, manage handoffs between different organizations.
  • Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules, and customer commitments.
  • Demonstrate collaborative work style and team-oriented behavior with a proactive example of communication internally and externally
  • Leverage digital tools & analyze the data insights to drive appropriate actions on ESM limit extensions, special procedures, etc


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors/ master's degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in Aviation Engines or Turbo machinery Engineering position (design, analysis, systems, services)
  • Ability to manage priority tradeoffs to optimize program deliveries.
  • Deep Functional Expertise in relevant engineering discipline and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization both internally and externally

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with compressor module and rotor hardwares
  • Previous experience in component hardware ownership role
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple project responsibilities
  • Ability to effectively interact with the customer
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
