Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Design ,develop, review and optimise manufacturing processes for avionics systems, ensuring adherence to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) principles.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions to minimise downtime and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with design, quality, programmes, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and control of manufacturing processes.
- Create and maintain clear and concise manufacturing work instructions aligned with technical specifications.
- Provide training and support to manufacturing operatives to implement changes in processes and techniques.
- Lead and support Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), Non Conformities (NC), among other activities to resolve production issues.
- Analyse production data using statistical techniques to identify trends and drive improvements.
- Manage shop floor tooling, equipment, and spare parts lists, ensuring compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety standards.
- Suggest and develop new technologies for fixtures, tooling, and equipment to enhance manufacturing processes.
- Contribute to year-on-year improvements in key metrics such as Yield, Cycle Time, and Defects-Per-Unit.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field and/or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in manufacturing engineering environment, preferably within avionics, aerospace, automtive or other highly regulated business industry.
- Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, 8D, or Red X.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to interpret technical engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Desired Skills:
- Experience creating and maintaining work instructions for avionics or composite manufacturing.
- Familiarity with configuration control and CAD software (e.g., Catia, AutoCAD, NX).
- Previous experience designing and managing fixtures, tooling, equipment, and manufacturing processes.
- Background in highly regulated industries, such as aviation or defence.
