The key objectives for this role are:
- Developing and improving processes to increase productivity and reduce costs.
- Identifying ways to minimize waste and enhance operational efficiency.
- Implementing new technologies and equipment to improve manufacturing processes.
- Working with teams across departments to ensure smooth integration of new processes.
- Ensuring adherence to industry regulations and safety standards
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Support the execution of risk analysis methodologies such as HAZOP, HAZID, and LOPA to identify potential hazards and assess the safety integrity of systems.
- Process Safety Documentation Contribute to the preparation, review, and upkeep of process safety documents, including safety cases, risk registers, and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments.
- Compliance and Standards Assist in ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations (API, OSHA, ISO, ADNOC codes, etc.) related to process safety and loss prevention.
- Incident Investigation Support Participate in incident/near-miss investigations, help gather and analyze data, and contribute to the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Safety Performance Monitoring Track and analyze leading and lagging process safety performance indicators (PSPIs) and contribute to reports and dashboards for continuous improvement.
- Process Safety Audits and Reviews Collaborate in internal and external audits and periodic safety reviews, ensuring all process safety gaps are identified and closed.
- Design and Operations Support Liaise with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to integrate process safety requirements into new projects and plant modifications.
- Training and Awareness Support process safety training and awareness programs, ensuring that staff across departments are familiar with key safety protocols and practices.
- Continuous Learning and Development Stay updated with advancements in process safety, emerging technologies, and updated regulations through training, seminars, and technical literature.

Expected:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or equivalent from an accredited university
- Strong interest or academic background in process safety and risk management.
- Familiarity with oil and gas process operations and safety standards (e.g., API, OSHA, ISO, NFPA) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
