This Position reports to:

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the quality and operational excellence team in support of the execution of the Electrification Solutions projects. The Solutions projects account for >500M of annual revenues and require constant factory and supplier quality monitoring and issue resolution. The selected leader additionally holds the responsibility to develop and implement Quality and OPEX execution strategy and tactics adhering to organizational objectives, business project performance, adapt the business operational processes and process behavior to assure sustained customer positive experience while driving high quality standards. In addition to the Quality & OPEX responsibilities, the selected leader is asked to play a pivotal role to assure our Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) processes and behaviors are prioritized over any other considerations. The HSE performance is to remain our license to operate.

This role is pivotal for the organization in driving project quality and operational excellence to success while supporting project management and business management in de-risking current and future incoming business.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions division in Houston, TX.

You will be mainly accountable to:

• Be the lead HSE representative for Electrification (EL) Solutions and assure that key HSE standards are followed by our suppliers/partners. Our HSE performance is to remain our license to operate.
• Lead the Quality & OPEX team by setting and maintaining the Quality and OPEX processes needed for the solution business. Drive continuous improvement by analyzing quality data, implementing standards, and applying lessons learned and stakeholder feedback to proactively identify and mitigate risks. Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions to enhance processes, tools, and project outcomes. Support Risk Review Process for large opportunities and assist relevant Proposal Engineer in the entire process through Approval.
• Lead the preparation and serve as the primary representative for the Solutions business during all internal and external audits, including ISO 9000. Maintain ISO certification and continuously enhance the Quality Management System. Maintain and suggest improvement to the EL Solutions OPEX and Quality/HSE tools. Maintain the existing supplier Quality & HSE plan assuring our suppliers adhere to it by providing demonstrated proof during the recurring audits.
• Assure that each project stakeholder interacting with the ABB team acts with highest level of professionalism and integrity. Assure adequate levels of staffing to serve the EL Solutions needs. Review and re-assess the staffing on a recuring basis and communicate needs to EL Solutions management.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers through rigorous audits to strengthen ABB's supplier base and enhance value delivery to customers. Assure the supplier corrective actions have been implemented to the satisfaction of ABB standards. Assure a structured supplier management plan is in place to maintain adequate levels of supplier oversight to deliver performance from a quality and HSE perspective
• Gather and maintain EL Solutions Quality, HSE and delivery KPIs by providing quarterly updated to Solutions management. Gather and drive resolution action pertaining to EL Solution business OPEX gaps assuring all lessons learned are actioned and driven to resolution.
• Using ABB value pairs, serve as mentor & coach to grow team members and increase overall organization effectiveness. Assure high level communication adaptability to effectively manage various levels of project stakeholders and executives.

Qualifications for the role:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical Distribution business.
• Minimum of 5 years in management role or equivalent experience
• Proven Quality Management skills, including creative issue resolution and change management.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to effectively manage a matrix team / organization.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in English.
• Knowledgeable in dealing with Engineering, Procurement and Construction and their processes.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and sense of urgency in dealing with tasks.
• Travel required approximately 25%-40% within US
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
