TDX Global, LLC (TDXG) is recruiting for a Generator Technician (PPU). This is a full-time position based in Ft. Bliss, TX. This position reports to the Program Manager.

JOB SUMMARY:

Technician will be embedded in a US Army THAAD Fire Unit. The technician's primary role will be supporting the maintenance and repair of the Prime Power Unit (PPU). The PPU is composed of two Caterpillar 650kW diesel generators mounted on a truck trailer, and producing Medium Voltages. Will serve as the primary point of contact for all troubleshooting and repairs required on the power generation equipment outside of the regularly scheduled maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support as part of an integrated team for a US Army THAAD Fire Unit; embedded with the military component to augment the skills of the soldier operators/maintainers who will provide primary field support for the power generation and distribution equipment.
  • May be required to provide 24-hour technical support via a Company issued mobile phone.
  • Primary responsibility will be to troubleshoot and repair any/all faults, failures, and issues with the power generation equipment, the Prime Power Unit.
  • Serve as the PPU Subject Matter Expert (SME) to guide the operator/maintainers in the event operations or maintenance tasks fall outside the instructions/procedures contained within the Army TM 9-1430-610-13.
  • Will deploy with the assigned team for both local and international assignments to provide support as the PPU SME. Assignments could last anywhere from a few weeks to 12 months at a minimum. Must be ready to deploy within 48 hours of being notified.
  • If within the United States, the technician must be able to report to Fort Bliss within 1 hour of being called in the event of an emergency.
  • Be available as needed, to support operations issues that may arise, unless specific approval has been given by supervision to be out of range of the operations location.
  • Work extended schedules as required supporting the project execution plans and schedules.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret level security clearance.
  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience with diesel engine driven generators.
  • Physically capable of working outside, in, on and around large generator enclosures and trailers in all kinds of weather.
  • Working knowledge of power plant generation systems. UPS systems, high, medium, and low voltage distribution systems, control circuitry, control logic, automatic and manual transfer systems, general operating, troubleshooting, and repair techniques are required.
  • A valid drivers' license issued by state of residence and in good standing.
  • A US Passport.

COMPETENCIES:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Computer diagnostic skills-especially CAT ET Software.
  • Experience with Caterpillar C32 (V-12) engine and diesel generators in the 650KW range.
  • Generator Paralleling and Load Banking.
  • Medium Voltage (4160 VAC) experience.
  • US Army MOS 12P, 91D or US Air Force AFSC 3E0X2.
  • Able to work alone and unsupervised.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both online and in person.
  • Secret Level Security Clearance.
