Contracts Engineer – Suriname

On behalf of a major Oil & Gas operator, WRS are are looking for a highly skilled Contracts Engineer to support a major offshore oil & gas development project in Suriname. This is a residential role suited to professionals seeking to contribute to a high-profile project in a rapidly emerging energy hub.

The role will be working on a 12 month renewable contract, paying a day rate in USD.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation and management of Call for Tenders (CFT) and Requests for Quotation (RFQ) for Drilling & Wells and Logistics.
• Draft and manage contractual documents, from strategy development through negotiation and finalization.
• Coordinate closely with technical teams to align commercial and technical scopes.
• Ensure compliance with corporate procedures, industry standards, and legal requirements.
• Participate in commercial negotiations and submit award recommendations.
• Support the development of integrated drilling services contracts with a strong focus on cost control and delivery assurance.
• Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives across the contracts portfolio.
• Promote high standards of ethics, anti-corruption, and HSE compliance.

Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in E&P contracts and tendering, with at least 5 years focused on Drilling & Wells.
• Previous experience working for an Oil & Gas operator
• Strong knowledge of contract lifecycle, legal frameworks (civil and common law), and dispute resolution.
• Autonomous, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple dossiers simultaneously.
• Skilled in negotiation, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
• Able to thrive in a multicultural and fast-paced environment.
• Fluent in English; French basics a plus.
