Position Summary:

The Modelling and Measure Build Energy Engineer is responsible for leading the development and ongoing maintenance of measure builds for Requests for Proposals (RFPs), as well as supporting various energy efficiency programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that engineering efforts are strategically aligned with business development objectives-particularly in achieving targeted energy savings and managing program budgets effectively.

  • Develop, prepare, and maintain comprehensive measure builds tailored to RFP requirements and program specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable standards and guidelines.
  • Work in partnership with the business development team to align measure builds with program objectives, including energy savings targets, cost-effectiveness metrics, and implementation strategies.
  • Analyze historical program data and performance outcomes to inform and optimize future measure build strategies.
  • Stay up to date with evolving technologies, industry standards, and programmatic requirements to ensure measure builds remain competitive and relevant.
  • Support proposal development efforts by providing timely and accurate technical inputs for new business opportunities.
  • Continuously monitor and update existing measure builds for different residential, Multifamily, kits program, etc., to reflect changes in incentive structures, program design, and regulatory updates.
  • Knowledge of technical elements of energy-consuming equipment in residential, multifamily, and commercial & industrial buildings, such as (lighting, HVAC systems, hot water measures, insulation, building envelope, etc.) and how it affects utility consumption and demand, to prioritize recommendations and how they affect savings and cost.
  • Have a very good understanding of different states' TRM (Technical Reference Manuals) measures.
  • Ability to complete energy savings calculations for different measures based on the TRM information with minimal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience in the measure builds process.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines
  • Experience in energy efficiency, utility programs, or building systems is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) preferred

Travel Requirements
  • Minimum travel (less than 5%)

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
  • Noise level is typically moderate
  • May occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration. In these circumstances, the employee will be required to comply with the prevailing safety training in place according to the individual customer requirements
  • Personal protective equipment including a hard hat, safety glasses and proper footwear must be worn when required by the job site
