JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS LLP) is currently recruiting for a Lead Workface Planning Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry to join our team in Tengiz, Kazakhstan (for KZ passport holders).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Workface Planning Lead is responsible for the effective implementation of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and Workface Planning (WFP) processes on the project.
• Workface Planning Lead initiates, pilots, oversees, and delivers the application of AWP / WFP through the entire lifecycle and for the entire scope of the project, including the creation and integration of AWP / WFP procedures and processes.
• Workface Planning Lead provides an essential coordination among engineering, procurement and construction and is responsible for the timely and quality completion of Construction Work Packs aligned with the Project Execution Plan and Work Breakdown Structure.
• Workface Planning Lead introduces, initiates, pilots, and oversees the application of Advanced Work Packaging and Workface Planning for the entire scope of the project.
• Applies the principles of Advanced Work Packaging and Workface Planning based upon project procedures and the project execution plan.
• Develops and implements a Workface Planning Execution Strategy
• Provides an essential coordination among engineering, procurement and construction personnel which results in the timely issuance of complete and constructable work packages to support project construction schedule.
• Plans, forecasts, and develops Construction Work Packages in support of all direct work.
• Develops and deploys a standard naming convention for the Construction Work Package and Installation Work Package, encompassing the Work Breakdown Structure conventions.
• Develops training packages and educates the project team and contractors on the application of Workface Planning
• Provides weekly reports on the advanced development of work packages to project management.
• Participates and monitors in the Construction Installation Work Packages scoping sections.
• Monitors all the Workface Planning sessions and works with contractors on Constraints clearance.
• Ensures Advanced Work Packaging reports are issued to Project Management on a weekly basis.
• Ensures that construction contractors adhere to the project procedures for Workface Planning and the expectations and requirements laid out in the contracts.
• Conducts risk reviews and lessons learned sessions on Workface Planning

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree (preferably technical engineering)
• Minimum 8 years of experience in project planning area
• Experience as workface planning specialist - 6 years
• Ability to apply consistent planning and scheduling methodologies
