QA/QC Lead - Offshore Energy Projects

Location: Oman or Qatar (based on project needs)

Contract Duration: Until 30 September 2027 (with potential extension)

Start Date: August 2025 or ASAP

Working Schedule: 5 days per week | Residential assignment

About the Role:

A senior QA/QC opportunity supporting a major offshore infrastructure project spanning engineering, fabrication, and offshore installation phases. This is a leadership role within a high-profile package responsible for riser platforms and brownfield interfaces. You will oversee and implement quality systems across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning, ensuring full compliance with technical standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Management System across all phases of EPCIC execution.
• Oversee quality control and surveillance activities, with focus on metallurgy, welding, NDT, and fabrication processes.
• Review inspection and test plans (ITPs), audit contractor and supplier QA/QC systems, and lead pre-inspection meetings.
• Develop and execute verification strategies in line with project standards and regulations.
• Act as the key interface for project quality matters with contractors, subcontractors, and third-party inspection agencies.
• Coordinate technical bid evaluations and contractor qualification audits for critical procurement items.
• Lead recruitment and management of the site-based QA/QC team within the package scope.
• Track and manage deviation requests, technical queries, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
• Implement KPIs and ensure regular reporting on quality performance to package leadership.
• Support contractor surveillance planning using criticality rating assessments.
• Conduct quality document reviews, inspection report assessments, and interface with certifying authorities.
• Ensure all inspection and test activities meet defined requirements and company expectations.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Engineering or HND/HNC with substantial field experience.
• Minimum 15 years' experience in the oil and gas industry, including 10+ years in quality management roles across EPCIC projects.
• Strong exposure to offshore project phases including brownfield, hook-up, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
• Lead Auditor certification is required.
• Proficiency in using project specifications, document management systems, and relevant international codes/standards.
• Skilled in using MS Office and related project software tools.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
• Valid H2S OPITO and T-BOSIET certifications (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong leadership, communication, planning, and organisational skills.
• Experience working in a multicultural project team environment is essential.
• Willingness to relocate to fabrication yards or construction sites, with potential travel required.
