This Position reports to:
Electrical Engineering Team Lead

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB's success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.

The work model for the role is: onsite/hybrid
This role is contributing to the Drives' New Product Development projects by participating in the projects and developing the verification (type testing) competence, methodology, tools, processes, and overall verification facilities in EEABB.

You will be main tasks are:
  • Prepare, review, approve and implement the product's verification plan based on design specifications
  • Plan, set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of the tested products' parts, assemblies, or systems and record and report the results
  • Develop the verification and testing methods, to ensure there are no issues with given product prior to its manufacturing phase and release
  • Supporting in prototype assembling and preparation of prototype units for verification and type tests
  • Develop and maintain the verification infrastructure at Drives
  • Provide technical assistance and resolution support when design problems are encountered before, during, or after construction
  • Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems
  • Participate in design reviews and recommend improvements


Qualifications for the role
  • University degree in electrical engineering or power electronics
  • Knowledge in drives and measurements technics. Especially in high efficiency converter technology and measurements.
  • Min. 3-5 years of work experience in area of electrical testing.
  • Ability to perceive complete structure of large configurable product
  • Cooperative, willing for team work, organized, scrupulous, purposeful
  • Good level in spoken and written English is mandatory.
  • Intermediate PC knowledge, beneficial to know some database based design and simulation tools
