Job Title: Fabrication Construction Manager / Manager (Construction – Mechanical)
Location: Qcon Marine Yard, Qatar
Overview:
The Fabrication Construction Manager will be responsible for leading the execution of fabrication and construction activities at the yard, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost targets are met. This role is essential in overseeing the fabrication of offshore and subsea structures, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and interfacing with clients and contractors to deliver high-quality construction outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities:

Execute and oversee fabrication and erection activities related to offshore topsides, subsea structures, piping systems, risers, jackets, and brownfield modifications.

Plan and manage construction operations in accordance with the project execution plan, while complying with client HSE and QA/QC standards.

Develop and implement detailed construction schedules, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies in coordination with the planning team.

Lead site construction teams and ensure daily activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in alignment with engineering specifications.

Monitor and report on manpower productivity (direct and indirect), quality compliance, safety performance, and project milestones.

Participate in progress and coordination meetings, raising constructability issues and collaborating with engineering, planning, and subcontractor teams for resolution.

Liaise with QA/QC and HSE teams to ensure strict adherence to standards and prompt closure of NCRs or punch items.

Ensure proper allocation of materials, equipment, and manpower to maintain schedule and optimize productivity.

Communicate with stakeholders including subcontractors, engineering support, and project management to ensure smooth execution and alignment with project goals.

Subsea structures: sleepers, bridges, pipeline spools

Riser guards, risers, J-tubes, piles, boat landings

Topside module fabrication and installation

Bridges, flare structures, piping spools, pipe supports

Brownfield modifications: deck extensions, pancakes, etc.
Management & Technical Competencies:

Strong knowledge of offshore fabrication, HSE standards, QA/QC processes, and construction methodology.

Proven ability to lead large, multicultural fabrication teams and coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders.

Experienced in planning, progress tracking, and construction reporting.

Hands-on knowledge of offshore project scopes, construction equipment, and materials.

Familiarity with industry codes and best practices in offshore oil and gas fabrication.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum 8 years of experience in offshore fabrication and construction within the Oil & Gas sector

Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written)

Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word); email and basic document handling

Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team coordination skills
