Position: QA/QC Engineer (E&I)
Location: Ras Laffan, Qatar
Contract Type: 2-Year Secondment Contract (with potential 1-year extension based on performance and business need)
Schedule: 6 days per week, 8–10 hours per day

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer (Electrical & Instrumentation) to join its dynamic team in Ras Laffan. The role is key to ensuring the successful execution of QA/QC programs across complex brownfield and shutdown projects within live LNG operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support QA/QC Lead in delivering effective quality programs across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.

• Review scope, inspection plans, material specifications, FAT/SAT plans, and technical documentation from a QA/QC perspective.

• Lead and coordinate inspection activities, site punch-list management, NCR investigations, and quality close-out processes.

• Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT), vendor inspections, pre-inspection meetings, and source inspections for E&I packages.

• Validate E&I-specific technical deliverables: loop diagrams, GA drawings, cause & effect, routing layouts, SLDs, logic diagrams, etc.

• Monitor contractor performance, implement QA metrics, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure adherence to COMPANY health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent).

• Certified Quality Auditor (IRCA) is required; Lead Auditor registration is preferred.

• Trade certification in Electrical/Instrumentation (advantageous).

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of QA/QC experience in the oil & gas sector.

• Experience in both greenfield and brownfield project execution.

• Strong understanding of shutdown execution, live plant QA/QC compliance, and LNG operations.

• Familiar with international codes and standards: IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, ATEX/IECEx 60079, etc.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in managing QA/QC inspections across design, procurement, and construction.

• Competency with data analysis, technical reporting, and quality documentation.

• Familiarity with engineering software, documentation control tools, and project systems.

• Excellent English communication skills – written and spoken.

• Solid interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
