Job Title: QA/QC Inspector - Electrical & Instrumentation
Location: Ras Laffan, Qatar

Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and proactive QA/QC Inspector specialising in Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) for a long-term brownfield project based at a major LNG facility in Ras Laffan. The successful candidate will be the front-line quality authority on site, supporting inspection activities, ensuring contractor compliance, and upholding high engineering standards in a complex, live operational environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide oversight of site inspection activities across Electrical and Instrumentation systems

Supervise and verify contractor inspection teams to ensure compliance with quality requirements

Conduct inspections on materials, installations, calibrations, and site activities

Ensure use of the latest revisions of technical documents and standards

Maintain accurate inspection records and daily reporting to QA/QC Engineer

Participate in quality audits, surveillance, and punch-list closeouts

Verify that works comply with project specifications, international standards, and safety protocols

Review quality deliverables from contractors and advise on areas of improvement

Act as a key liaison between QA/QC, construction, and operational teams

Support non-conformance identification, root cause analysis, and resolution

Maintain an ongoing log of observations, concerns, and remedial actions taken
Technical Expertise:
-
Knowledge of low and medium voltage equipment, transformers, UPS, switchgears, control panels, relays, and lighting systems

Experience in industrial control systems (DCS, PLC, ESD), field instruments, transmitters, and analyzers

Familiarity with fire and gas systems, PAGA, telecom systems, and associated inspections

Understanding of cybersecurity and basic IT/OT network components used in industrial settings

Proficient in reading and interpreting ITPs, loop diagrams, cause and effect charts, and general electrical documentation
Requirements:

Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification

Minimum 8 years' experience in QA/QC within oil and gas or heavy industrial projects

Significant field inspection experience on shutdown and brownfield projects

Familiarity with international electrical and instrumentation codes (IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, ATEX, IECEX)

Strong understanding of quality management systems and document control processes

Proficient in written and spoken English

Computer literate with experience in inspection reporting and data management tools

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
