Job Title: QA/QC Engineer – Oil & Gas Projects
Location: Ras Laffan, Qatar
Contract: 2 years, with potential extension of 1 additional year

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer to join a high-profile oil and gas project based in Ras Laffan. This role plays a vital part in quality planning, inspection coordination, contractor oversight, and driving performance improvements across multiple concurrent brownfield and shutdown projects.
The position reports to the QA/QC Lead and acts as the key quality interface between project teams and QA/QC leadership. The successful candidate will support effective resource allocation, ensure contractor compliance with international and company standards, and provide technical leadership in closing quality gaps and non-conformities.
Key Responsibilities:

Review project scopes to define appropriate quality verification strategies

Evaluate contractor and supplier QA/QC documents (e.g., PQP, ITP, Criticality Ratings)

Approve welding procedures and qualification records

Coordinate inspection teams and third-party inspectors across multiple project sites

Conduct quality assessments and surveillance visits to ensure standard compliance

Monitor and report on contractor performance, NCRs, and CARs

Lead pre-inspection meetings and participate in project readiness reviews

Support punch-list coordination and verification ahead of mechanical completion

Track the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions

Prepare and present contractor performance reports

Validate QA/QC team readiness and competency, especially for shutdown activities
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or related engineering discipline

Certified Quality Auditor (IRCA) – required
-
Welding Inspection Certification (CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2) – required

Valid NDT Level II certification – required
Experience:
-
At least 10 years’ experience in QA/QC roles within the oil and gas industry

Solid background in both greenfield and brownfield environments

Proven track record of managing quality in shutdown projects within live LNG facilities

In-depth understanding of materials performance in cryogenic, high- and low-temperature, and sour service applications

Familiar with international codes and standards (ASME, ISO, API, AWS, NACE, etc.)

Strong document review experience, including WPS, PQRs, ITPs, and vendor packages
