Short description

This is a position for Engineers who see themselves as specialists and are looking to stay/grow in Project Engineering rather than Project Management.

For our client, we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who can take on complex and innovative projects. Are you a curious engineer with that special interest for Mechanical equipment? Do you like innovations, conversions, newbuilds? Think of cranes, grippers, propulsion systems and other heavy equipment.

Contribute to large projects as the go-to for Mechanical innovations!

Function description

What are you going to do?

• Translate operational needs into technical concepts and functional specifications;
• Lead the design process for new builds and equipment modifications;
• Coordinate engineering activities, from concept to detailed design;
• Oversee execution of construction and modification projects on-site;
• Act as a troubleshooter for mechanical systems of mission equipment;

Requirements

Who are you?

• Someone with a relevant engineering education, e.g. Mechanical, Offshore, Maritime;
• Someone with years of proven experience of relevant projects and experience in the Offshore/Dredging/Shipbuilding industry;
• Someone with extensive knowledge of heavy equipment;
• Someone who is curious and passionate about the engineering work they do;
• Someone who is flexible and willing to travel abroad regularly for on-site supervision/troubleshooting;
• Someone who is comfortable with speaking english and ideally speaks dutch as well;
• Someone looking for a long-term position with a big, international organization.
