Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer with a focus on Adaptive Machining MFG operations to join our Metalworking technologies team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in manufacturing processes, particularly in 5-axis Milling, and will be responsible for aiding in developing, optimizing, and implementing adaptive manufacturing solutions to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC).

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Manufacturing engineering tasks that aid in the development of adaptive machining solutions with functionality across multiple conventional machining domains.
  • Develop specialized knowledge in adaptive machining techniques and serve as a best practice resource to support application across all GE Aerospace part families. Maintain awareness of latest technology developments and utilize technology for design enablement and process development.
  • Have a strong understanding of different CNC machines, controllers, on-machine inspection methods, and how these systems share data to support advanced adaptive machining techniques
  • Utilizes technical expertise to analyze data and existing adaptive solutions to find complex solutions to the issues associated with morphing toolpaths to fit the needs of the product.
  • Serves as a mentor to less experienced colleagues and may manage small projects with moderate risks and resource needs. Communicates complex or sensitive information and works to build agreement. Developing skills to persuade others on topics within their expertise.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of Manufacturing experience


Desired Characteristics
  • Master's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Experience with general purpose programming languages such as Python, C++, Visual Basic
  • Experience with GE Aviation Quality requirements and systems (e.g., NMS, SPS, eCAV etc.).
  • Experience with Siemens controllers and PC and PLC based solutions for manufacturing
  • Experience Machining Heat Resistance Super Alloys
  • In depth understanding of work-holding techniques and applications
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and adhere to manufacturing standards and policies.
  • Experience with the change control process.
  • NPI & technology development knowledge.
  • Ability to travel domestic and international, as required.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
