Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams consisting of design engineering, quality, materials and manufacturing; manage action plan and prioritize efforts based on SQDC within the composites supply chain (includes internal & external suppliers).
- Drive manufacturing improvements in PMC manufacturing equipment and process technology within the supply base. Task activities are focused on various areas of manufacturing technology including layup/resin transfer mold/autoclave or press cure.
- Monitor and communicate project status, issues and significant developments as appropriate to key stakeholders in the Composites business.
- Stay up to date on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices of polymer matrix composites manufacturing. Grow technical expertise in PMC manufacturing through training opportunities, online courses, certifications, and workshops.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and a Lean mentality within the manufacturing organization.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field from an accredited College or University
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering position
Desired Characteristics :
- Previous hands-on composites manufacturing experience.
- Established project management skills, including planning, execution, and delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to lead others not in a direct reporting relationship
- Desire to pursue a technical career path leading to future roles as Certifying Agent (CA) and/or Controlled Title Holder (CTH)
- Experience with aerospace special process control/quality management systems.
- Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively
- Problem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker
- Ability to travel 25% of time (more or less as projects require).
