We are currently hiring for a Project Developer (PD) to join our Development team. This hybrid role is responsible for managing the development of turnkey energy conservation, reliability, and capacity projects-from Preliminary Scoping through Final Contract. The position blends technical expertise in HVAC controls and building automation with strategic project development responsibilities.
The ideal candidate has experience in energy engineering, designing control systems, preparing detailed submittals, conducting site visits, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet both client needs and technical performance goals.
Travel: Across United States & Canada is required approximately 30-50% of the time.

MANDATORY ATTRIBUTES
- Technical Expertise in Energy Systems - Deep understanding of HVAC, ability to evaluate and optimize complex energy infrastructure, & Controls SME.
- Data Center Solutions & General Industry Knowledge - Deep understanding the data center infrastructure, interested in data center industry.
- Strong Verbal and Written Communication & Presentation Skills - Can clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, skilled in proposal writing and delivering persuasive presentations.
- Project Development & Scoping Skills with Client Centric Mindset - Experience developing energy projects from concept through proposal, skilled in site assessments, feasibility studies, and ROI modeling, ability to understand client needs and translate them into tailored energy solutions, strong consultative approach to build trust and long-term relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Project Development
- Lead the end-to-end development of turnkey energy saving, reliability, and capacity retrofit projects-from preliminary scoping to final contract.
- Engage directly with clients to understand their needs and ensure those requirements are reflected in all stages of project development and final documentation.
- Develop and manage project scope, budget, and schedules while aligning with internal milestones and client expectations.
- Ensure consistent adherence to Enabled Energy's business development processes, including timely completion of key deliverables and milestone approvals.
- Navigate project closure with discernment, balancing technical depth with efficiency to resolve critical issues and streamline decision-making.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to construction costs, performance guarantees, and contractual or legal exposure.
2. Energy Engineering & Analysis
- Conduct baseline energy usage analysis across client portfolios to identify high-impact opportunities.
- Establish Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) targets to guide energy optimization strategies and inform project design.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate proposed upgrades, quantify energy savings, and recommend enhancements to improve project outcomes.
- Deliver post-project reporting on verified energy savings and carbon reduction achievements to support sustainability goals.
3. Rebate & Incentive Program Management
- Perform detailed business case analysis for participation in utility rebate and incentive programs, including evaluation of program requirements, financial impact, and alignment with client goals.
- Provide opt-in/opt-out recommendations based on cost-benefit assessments.
- Coordinate with EE's Rebate Administrative team to provide required scope and energy savings calculations to fulfill the utility requirements.
- Oversee measurement and verification (M&V) efforts to ensure compliance with rebate requirements, coordinate with utilities, and support efficient processing of financial incentives.
4. Project-Specific Representation & Client Advocacy
- Act as the primary advocate for energy efficiency, capacity and reliability initiatives on assigned client projects or portfolios.
- Ensure strategic alignment with client objectives, facilitating communication among internal teams, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress across the portfolio to ensure consistency in quality, timelines, and budget adherence.
- Proactively manage risks and ensure compliance with energy regulations and industry standards.
- Drive continuous improvement strategies in portfolio-wide energy performance and reporting.
5. Application Engineering
- Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and solution architects to ensure technical goals and client objectives are reflected in detailed design efforts.
- Design custom unitary control solutions and generate technical documentation to support bidding, procurement, and implementation phases.
- Respond to technical inquiries, evaluate design alternatives, and ensure architectural integrity and scalability for future applications.
- Review subcontractor bids for technical compliance and provide feedback on feasibility and integration potential of new technologies or methods.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required
- Bachelor's degree or at least seven years of experience in data centers and energy engineering.
- Professional experiences utilizing strong client-facing skills while paying attention to quality and critical deadlines.
Preferred
- At least ten years of experience in energy engineering.
- Working knowledge of data center/mission-critical infrastructure.
- Experience designing controls systems in the Niagara framework
- Experience with Liebert AM/AG and iCOM controls.
- Experience in project development.
